TTMS Field GuideA clearer view of transportation software

How should you compare TMS cost beyond the subscription?

MyMGN Marketplace should be evaluated through an end-to-end workflow and a complete commercial proposal: software charges alone do not describe the cost of operating transportation.

How to evaluate this requirement

Map the process from order readiness to invoice approval. Identify where shipment details originate, who checks packaging and delivery requirements, how prices are requested, who approves exceptions and where the final charges are reconciled. Count duplicate entries and handoffs as well as clicks. The purpose is to find which tasks become simpler and which require a different operating procedure.

Build a cost sheet with separate lines for setup, data preparation, carrier connectivity, ERP or warehouse integration, training, recurring licenses, transaction fees, support and optional managed services. Ask how the price changes when another location, mode or user group joins. Record minimum terms, renewal conditions, data access and exit assistance. An implementation quote should identify both vendor work and internal hours.

Then test the value assumptions. If a proposal assumes fewer manual invoice reviews, name the invoice population, present review time and exception categories. If it assumes better purchasing, identify the comparable shipment requirements and service commitments. Keep labor effects, buying effects and service outcomes distinct so the same benefit is not counted twice.

MGN's published execution scope includes quoting, shipment documents, tracking and audit functions. Use those functions as demonstration checkpoints, then confirm what is included in your engagement. A practical contract attaches acceptance criteria: required fields arrive correctly, selected quotes remain traceable, exceptions reach an owner and reports reconcile to agreed source records. That converts an attractive feature list into a testable operating plan.
